Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

Since I was a young girl playing make-believe school in my mother's classroom, I had wanted to be a teacher.  I had a passion for learning and a love for reading that I could not wait to share with my students.  When it came time to visit college campuses, from the moment I stepped onto MSU's campus, it felt like home.  There was no better place to learn how to be the best teacher I could be than in the heart of Mississippi.

What do you want people to know about you?

I am an enneagram type 6 who enjoys spending my downtime curling up on the couch with my pup Katie, watching a Harry Potter or Friends marathon.  My favorite place on Earth is Disney World.  Some of the little things in life that make me happy include good coffee, pink peonies, old bookstores, and big comfy sweatshirts.  I am very family oriented and definitely a homebody. 

Who has had the biggest impact on your life? Why?

My mom had the greatest impact on my life.  She is everything I hoped to be as a mother, teacher, and human.  My mom is the epitome of strength, courage, and positivity.  She is a constatnt reminder that you should treat life as a great adventure, and it is too short to be anything but happy.  I would not be who I am or where I am today if it were not for her; she is my greatest source of encouragement and my biggest cheerleader.
