Where are you now?

North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle School in Biloxi, MS

Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

I came to MSU because my entire family had gone there, starting with my grandfather. He was the first in his family to go to college. Ever since I was a little girl, there was no other college I wanted to attend. As for education, I have always loved English. My grandmother, my mother, and my mother's sister were all teachers, and I felt that, though I started out in a different major, God was calling me to the same path my family had taken.

What do you want people to know about you?

First and foremost, I am a Christian; Jesus is the most important person in my life. I love to read books and write stories.

What activities were you involved in on campus (outside of METP)?

The Shackouls Honor College. Since I loved to act, I loved auditioning for yearly Honors College plays.

What advice would you give to entering freshmen or students finishing up high school?

As President Keenum loves to say, go to class, go to class, go to class!!!! Showing up late is better than not showing up at all, even if everyone turns around and stares at you when you walk in. Trust me, I know this from personal experience. If you are a student finishing up high school and you are getting ready to come to MSU, a word of advice on schedule building: when planning your classes, look at the buildings in which they are held, then look at the time that they start and the time that they end. Take that into account!!!!! There is a virtual map of campus; use it! Plan your classes to be within easy walking distance of each other. DO NOT end up with ten minutes to get from Hilbun to Dorman. Just...don't. Trust me on this.
