Where are you now?
Biloxi High School
Why did you choose to come to MSU?
MSU chose me more than I chose MSU for myself. Going to a four-year university had always been more of a dream for me because it always seemed financially impossible, so receiving the METP scholarship gave me opportunities that I could never fully express my gratitude for. I never imagined that I would be able to say that I graduated with no student loans as an education major.
How has the METP program enhanced your college experience at Mississippi State?
METP made my college experience something that I will truly never forget. As mentioned, I would never be able to come to MSU without the scholarship, so I feel incredibly blessed every day to say that I am an MSU Bulldog. I also love being able to represent my university through the METP Program as a graduate role model.
What are some of your on-campus involvements outside of METP?
I was heavily involved at MSU from my freshman year until graduation. I was involved in the Day One Leadership Program and the Shackhouls Honors College, served as a College of Education Ambassador, served as a Fellow of the Montgomery Leadership Program, and was also accepted into the Sigma Alpha Lambda Honors Society.
Please share a funny moment/interesting fact about yourself.
As a true teacher should be, I am absolutely obsessed with school supplies! I get genuinely excited to open a new pack of colored pens, crayons, post-it notes, etc. every single time!
