Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?

I came to MSU because I could not imagine myself getting a degree from any other school. I will continue my education at the MSU Meridian branch where I can be in an elementary classroom learning the ropes of teaching. I chose education because being a teacher allows me the opportunity to pour into and love on so many children: to make an impact in their lives that they will always remember. There is no title more rewarding than Ms. Avrie. 

What do you want people to know about you?

I want to live my life in a way that glorifies and pleases God. I love to serve in my church as a worship leader and Children's Church Volunteer. I have an amazing family, with four sisters, and the best boyfriend. I was originally a chemistry major but decided to change to elementary education because I began to feel the Lord calling me to teach. I absolutely adore being with children and letting Jesus shine through me.
