Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?
Ever since I can remember I have always had a calling to teach. The impact a good educator can have on the lives of their students is admirable. I have had various educators inspire me over the years. There was one teacher in particular that encouraged me to apply to MSU and the METP program. After applying, I decided to visit and schedule a meeting with those who headed the scholarship. It was through this encounter that I realized MSU would be my home for the next four years. The accepting and encouraging atmosphere created at MSU was unlike anything I had ever experienced on a college campus. Even now, I thank God each day that I have been blessed with such an opportunity. I am living proof that if you work hard and present yourself in a positive light, there are no limits to what you can do.
What do you want people to know about you?
I have lived in Gulfport, MS for my entire life until now. The two most important things to me are serving the Lord and loving my family. I often express myself through music, and I practically have a song for every emotion. Singing is also one of my passions. When it comes to meeting new people I am pretty shy, but once you get to know me I can be super extroverted.
