Why did you decide to come to MSU and pursue a degree in education?
The first time I visited Mississippi State, it felt like home away from home. Everyone I met from the College of Education was so kind and genuine. I believe in order to teach you have to have the heart for it, and the people I met from MSU truly did. That is how I knew I wanted to go to MSU for my teaching degree, because I wanted to learn from people who are truly passionate about teaching.
What do you want people to know about you?
I love learning, and I want to inspire others to love to learn also. Growing up, school was my safe space, and learning was so exciting because of the amazing teachers I had. I just hope I can help my future students feel the same way. I want to help my students see how the world opens up to them when you open yourself up to learning!
What advice would you give to entering freshmen or students finishing up high school?
Advice I would give to entering freshmen or high school seniors is to not stress too much about what's to come. There will be times when college is hard and you feel like you don't know what you're doing, but make sure to give yourself grace! Also, have fun!
